Blacksands Petroleum, Inc. is a public company (OTCBB:BSPE) engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of unconventional oil in Western Canada, particularly Saskatchewan.

Blacksands has a 75% interest in Access Energy Inc., which in turn entered into an exclusive and binding Impact Benefit Agreement and Joint Venture Agreement with the Buffalo River Dene Nation (BRDN) in May 2007 which gives Access Energy exclusive access to approximately 3,000,000 acres of the BRDN's traditional lands.

Access Energy's agreements with the BRDN run until at least May 2027. Blacksands plans to explore the Project Land seeking to discover and develop heavy oil (unconventional) and bitumen deposits.
